Yardstick

Napa Valley | California

A yardstick is a basis for measurement which can be used as a baseline or reference point. Named for my younger sister Ruth, YARDSTICK Ruth’s Reach Cabernet Sauvignon offers the signature quality of Napa Valley without the high Napa Valley price. This vineyard is far enough south to receive regular morning fog from the San Pablo Bay, but far enough north to bask in the warm afternoon sun. The alluvial brown soil produces wine that is exceptionally rich with bright acidity and fine tannins.

2021 Yardstick Cabernet Sauvignon, Ruth’s Reach, Napa Valley

Tasting Note: Youthful deep purple color. Aromas of deep dark blueberry, black cherry and plum. The palate is very full and rich with  good tension and nerve throughout. This wine is very powerful in flavor with plum and vanilla nuances. The finish is long and supple. Drink now through 2036.

2018 Yardstick Cabernet Sauvignon, Ruth’s Reach, Napa Valley

Tasting Note: Yardstick shows medium-garnet color, aromas of chocolate and butterscotch which complement ripe cherry and red berry fruit. Flavors of black cherry and raspberry fill out a rounded palate layered with full yet soft tannins. Caramel, oak, and strawberry fruit in the finish.
