Our focus is Cabernet Sauvignon from two prestigous vineyards in Northern California — Yoeman Vineyard, located on the northeastern slope in the Alexander Valley, and Game Ranch Vineyard, located on old river bottom on the eastern bench of the Silverado Trail. Both showcase the optimum silhouettes of Cabernet Sauvignon from Alexander Valley and Napa Valley.
Tasting Note: Deep mohagony; packed with raspberry and ripe black fruit characters expanding into mint and toasty oak aromas. On the palate, black cherry and plum layers weave seamlessly through the red tobacco and earthy overtones. Full-bodied and nicely balanced. Soft mid-palate with velvety tannins. Finishes with espresso bean.
Tasting Note: Deep Byzantium purple; ripe black cherry and black currant aromas with violet, boysenberry and currant. Intense dark fruit flavors beautifully meld within a gorgeous framework of French Oak. Shows bright acid and firm, super-fine grained tannins. Dark chocolate and smoke in the long finish.
Tasting Note: Deep garnet; aromas of dark plum, black cherry, cassis, nutmeg, vanilla and dark chocolate. Shows concentrated flavors of black cherry, blackberry, plum, cassis, spice, tobacco, and chocolate. Rich and full-bodied, nice wood framing, sumptuous texture, supple tannin finish. My favorite vineyard from an exceptional vintage.
Tasting Note: This vintage shows dark ruby red color; ripe berry, cassis, and black pepper aromas. On the palate a smooth entry is followed by black cherry, blueberry, and spice. Fine, supple tannins carry all the way through the finish. Notes of chocolate, flint and graphite linger.
