2022 Cabernet Sauvignon, Stonemason Hill, Alexander Valley
Tasting Note: The 2022 vintage being warmer than 2021, shows more black fruits as its base. Black cherry, boysenberry and black fig aromas jump out of the glass. It is vibrant with nice perfume. The mouth is very smooth, rich silky tannins go on forever. Good tension in the mouth begs to have a second glass. The complexity is beyond its years. A great Alexander Valley Cabernet combined with a vintage that will age gracefully. Dark fruit flavors and beautiful structure make it a lovely wine for food pairing. This wine’s elegance, acidity and spice notes complement grilled or roasted dishes, such as herb-crusted lamb, roasted duck or grilled pork loin. The wine’s earthiness even compliments vegetarian dishes, ratatouille or roasted root vegetables.

2021 Cabernet Sauvignon, Stonemason Hill, Alexander Valley
Tasting Note: Deep purple with a red middle with prevalent aromas of blueberry and dark cherry. A concentration of wild black berries, bitter sweet chocolate, maple with round supple tannins. While the wine shows off its generous structure and firm tannins, the finish is luxurious and velvet-like as it gracefully ends. Drink now through the next 10 years.

2020 Cabernet Sauvignon, Stonemason Hill, Alexander Valley
Tasting Note: Color tells us so much about the wine in terms of concentration – this does not disappoint, it is dark red and with a deep purple edge. The aromas show black fruit of ripe black plum and black cherry so deeper than the usual Alexander Valley. The mouth is very long and balanced with characters of black pepper, vanilla and dark plum. The result is a wine with a beautiful harmony of layers and balance. The finish is of supple round tannins, beautiful acidity and a touch of spice on the long and satisfying finish.

Coffee candies, black cherries, olives and blackberries. Quite rich and obvious, with a degree of sweetness in the full-bodied palate. Chewy, fine-grained structure. Flattering and easy to understand. Drink in 2023.
