2019 Cabernet Sauvignon PLUS Yoeman, Alexander Valley

Tasting Note: The wine is deep purple hue. Aromas of Blueberry, Black Cherry and Plum show a fruit driven wine of maximum complexity. Bright and vibrant. The mouth is rich and full immediately with classic Alexander Valley supple tannins. 2019 was a cooler vintage and so has great vibrancy and life.

2019 Cabernet Sauvignon PLUS Game Ranch, Napa Valley

Tasting Note:  The 2019 PLUS captures the vintage beautifully. Deep purple, red in color. The aromatics in the glass pours out purple- blackcurrant, blackberry and boysenberry with toasty vanilla and spice playing supporting roles. Bright, fresh and  restrained on entry, the mid-palate offers a blend of fruit, spice, toasty oak and cedar notes. While the finish offers plenty of structure to age beautifully, the round polished tannins give warmth and texture to finish.

2018 Goldschmidt Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon Alexander Valley Yoeman Plus

Score: 93 Points

8 Aug, 2022 – Savory cocoa powder and sandalwood to the blackberries, olives, dried herbs and pine cones. A hint of red chili pepper, too. Very full-bodied red, packed with powerful, granular tannins that will need time to soften. Extracted, a little chewy and heady, but luckily this is still juicy and very long, with lots of creamy oak. A bit obvious, but shows quality, too. Needs at least two or three years to come together. Drink after 2024.

4 Feb, 2022 – This shows notes of ripe dark fruit, baking spices, nut shells, pine wood with hints of dried herbs and crushed stones. Firm and chewy with a full body and a lingering stream of tight yet polished tannins. Rich and complex. Long finish with an array of blue fruit and crushed stones. Needs some time to soften. Try after 2025.
